Are you studying toward an M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering and looking for a thesis project where you have the possibility to deep dive into the area of electrification and have the possibility to create a long-term impact on a business? Hydroscand Group is searching for students to do their thesis work within the electrification of hydraulic systems.

About us

The thesis objective
The worldwide transition toward vehicles powered by electrical energy has shown no signs of slowing down as a result of the increasing demand for sustainability. As a result, global leaders of heavy machinery such as Sandvik, Epiroc, and Scania increasingly innovate their product portfolio to become increasingly electrified. To maintain our international leadership in our industry and continue on our strong growth journey we are currently looking for a team of two master thesis students to explore electrification in hydraulic systems, which is an integral part of heavy machines and an important driver of our business.

  • Explore trends within electrification of hydraulic systems in heavy machinery
  • Examine what parts of hydraulic systems in heavy machinery that are possible to replace by an electric-powered alternative
  • Technical barriers for adopting electric alternatives to hydraulic systems in heavy machinery
